NEW HANDBALL LITERATURE

Aug 18, 2020

Unfortunately, handball has been in deficit with professional literature for years. Authors and books that deal with the essence of the game itself can be counted on the fingers of one hand, so every attempt to change something in that field is worthy of attention and praise.

The book “3:2:1 – back to basics”, in which its author, Dragan Djukic, a Serbian coach with many years of experience abroad, follows the development of this defense from its origin to its application in today’s handball.

From the introductory remarks of the man who celebrated this zonal formation with ex Yugoslavian national team, Vlado Stenzel, through the theoretical settings of the defense itself, to its elaboration to solutions and a small practicum for application, Dragan takes us through its “secrets” in 110 pages of text and puts things where they should always have stood. In any case, a book that deserves warm recommendations, dedicated to everyone who wants to learn something more, to be reminded and reassured.

The promotion, which was supposed to be held at the Serbian seminar for coaches, was postponed due to the current situation, and interestingly, the author made an effort to have an English edition at the same time.
